Vital Duo is certainly not a lifeless reduction of Minimum Vital for two musicians who plays using a back up of sequencers and electronic drums !
This project was born from our desire to explore new territories mixing both our progressive and medieval backgrounds to try nd reach a wider freedom of sounds and interplay that is difficult to obtain from a full band.
Our set-list is different from that of Minimum Vital, with the exception of two tracks that have been totally rearranged.
We wanted to emphasize authenticity: the music is played by musicians, without pre-programmed machines, using a peculiar instrumentorium comprising a digital church organ (made from a personal combination of sounds from various pipe organs), acoustic piano, drums, percussions, electric and acoustic guitars (including a cistre built on order by an instrument maker from Bordeaux), as well as bass pedals.
The sound can be powerful and electric, but also quiet and full of a quasi-religious atmosphere. To summarize, we could say that we are two modern troubadours who would discover the energy of rock !
Of course, the public will judge the impact of the duo but I hope with all my heart that we'll be supported. Our goal has always beento emphasize the originality and the musical consistency.
